Who Gets your Vote for Teen Choice Selfie Taker?

It's a countdown to August 16, just over a month to go, for the airing of the Teen Choice Awards 2015.  After coming out with the first wave of nominees last month, the second wave is out today, with the official list available at the official website of Teen Choice.

Two new awards are up for grabs:  Choice Selfie Taker and Choice Dancer.  The nominees for the first and more controversial award are Justin Bieber, Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, One Direction, Rihanna and Nicole Scherzinger.  These names flood the social media with their selfies, with photos of themselves in underwear, or without underwear.  It would be interesting to know who will get the surfboard for this category.  It might be a toss between the top two names with the highest Instagram followers:  Kim Kardashian with 38.4 million and the Bieber with 32.5 million.  But who knows, the teenage mind can be finicky at best.

The Teen Choice Awards is an annual event presented by the giant network, Fox.  It gives out various awards in categories that include music, movies, television, sports, plus other awards that can set a teenage girl a-giggling, like the choice lip lock, and the teen boys a-goggling, like the category for choice hottie (female).

Aside from the parade of stars walking the red carpet, the Awards is also famous for its live performances.

The Awards was started in 1999, targeting the teenagers aged 13 to 19 years old.  The creators wanted a more grown up version of the Nickelodeon's Kid Choice Awards, almost similar to MTV in vibe but younger.  The lucky winners take home a specially-made, full-size surfboard, designed with the year's official logo.  The surfboard costs $ 800, but the real value is in its meaning:  freedom of the youth.

Teen Choice Awards 2014 had some controversies.  The organizers introduced new categories honoring YouTube and Vine.  Some A-list celebs were outvoted, and they made insinuations of vote rigging. No further reports about the insinuations were made.
