BitTorrent Partners With Onehub To Create Hybrid File Sharing Service

BitTorrent has announced its partnership with Onehub to develop new and improved features for large businesses. The torrent-based alternative file-sharing company will be obtaining some important upgrades for developer including an API release.

The networking company posted on its official blog revealing that the storage and sharing provider is BitTorrent's first enterprise app partner. The agreement with Onehub will create a 'hybrid' file sharing service which is a combination of the advantages of syncing directly among peers.

'Onehub Sync' is the result of the combination of BitTorrent Sync into Onehub's solution stack. The advance peer-to-peer sharing approach that the new service can offer is made possible by controlling the BitTorrent Sync API and the addition of the Sync engine to the users.

Since Onehub is always available on the cloud, it can provide consistent and reliable service to the enterprises.

Onehub Sync has been tested through its beta version. Users can expect high-speed file sharing as it selects the fastest route decreasing the time required for syncing. It also automatically updates the users' collaborators.

Users can always access the latest files through multiple sources with the aid of the Onehub peers who make sure that they have a peer in order to get updates. Those who are particular about security no longer need to worry because the service offers high-end security.

"Onehub provides bank-level encryption for all your data and file transmission between peers is always encrypted," Erik Pounds, the Vice President of Product Management for BitTorrent wrote.

"Onehub also provides activity tracking to monitor who has accessed files, as well as role-based permissions to control who can access your data," he added.

The latest 'Onehub Sync' can now be experienced for free using the 14-day trial on Windows or Mac. Users can then enjoy the speed, reliability, scalability and security of the service starting at $29.95 per month for up to three subscribers.
