iPad Mini Price in USA Close to Becoming Known After New Rumors of Release Date, Media Event October 23

It has been a hectic start of the week for tech writers in web publications and printed media cross country, and across the world, after Apple Inc went out with an invitation to a media event, hinting, "We've got a little more to show you."

The invitation featured the top part of the Apple Company's logo, and was sprinkled with the colors of a rainbow, giving rise to heightened speculations as to the color variation a new device from the successful computer manufacturer might feature.

A new smaller version of the company's successful iPad tablet series has been the talk of the web lately, and it would not be unexpected for Apple to enter a product segment where they have been completely left behind by competitors such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble's and new arch-rival Google.

The iPad has been hailed as untouchable by the competition, for its attractiveness to a broad consumer segment ranging from home users to business users, with all the flexibility provided by the iOS's iTunes Apple Store.

When smaller tablets, with very advanced technology started over the course of the year, it answered a concern among users that Apple's iPad was simply too big to comfortably bring to every occasion.

Now, rumors abound that the media event being advertised for October 23 will actually host the unveiling of a new smaller iPad, popularly named iPad Mini, as well as a slate of other products such as smaller Mac laptop computers with the high resolution Retina displays, which the company only offers on a bigger sized 15-inch laptop today.

The U.S. release date for the new Apple iPad Mini was cited by CNET Asia to be November 2nd, and the price range starting as low as $249, which is still slightly above competitors such as the Amazon Kindle Fire HD and the Google Nexus 7 starting at $199.
