Channing Tatum May Be Leaving The Movie 'Gambit'

Channing Tatum was the first choice when 20th Century Fox first announced that they would be making a Gambit movie. Unfortunately, reports have been circulating in the internet that Channing Tatum is planning to leave his role as Gambit in the upcoming X-Men spinoff.

The representatives of the American actor, film producer, dancer and mode, made his film debut in the drama film Coach Carter, are still in "active discussions" with 20th Century Fox. Director Rupert Wyatt is still on board for the Gambit movie. As Tatum has been greatlyinvolved in the Gambit project for quite some time, it would be hard to explain what would prompt him to walk away. Many actually hold on to his words in recalling  what Channing Tatum said about the film just last May, that he was "super excited."

The Magic Mike star Channing Tatum might be too caught up in huge projects, just like the a Ghostbusters movie, where everyone still wants him to be in, and the possibility of a new 21 Jump Street movie.

The production of the Gambit film has been taking slow steps, where the producers just recently hired director Rupert Wyatt a few weeks ago, and now, the deal between Channing Tatum and 20th Century Fox is in serious jeopardy and may fall apart. And if Tatum does wind up leaving the Gambit movie, Tatum will  be walking away from his first superhero role.

Josh Zetumer will do the screenplay for Gambit, and it was supposed to be produced by Tatum and his creative partner Reid Carolin, along with X-Men franchise stewards Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner. And at the moment it is still unclear whether or not Channing Tatum would remain on board the film as a producer.

Gambit is scheduled for release October 7, 2016, which was planned to follow the X-Men spinoff Deadpool in February 15 and X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27.
