Viber Acquires Nextpeer To Boost Gaming Service

Viber has acquired mobile games service provider Nextpeer for $9 million to boost its gaming platform. The Israel-based company is the one responsible for the social and multiplayer tools of the same name for games developers. 

One of the world's most popular messaging app will take advantage of Nextpeer's resourcs to improve its recently released gaming service and attract more users to Viber Games.

Viber currently has more than 600 million users from around the world and they would like more people to discover and eventually use their platform for instant messaging. 

The partnership of the two firms allows Nextpeer customers to utilize the tools of Viber as well. 

Michael Shmilov, COO at Viber expressed their delight in having the Nextpeer team as new members of the growing Viber family. The mobile gaming company currently has a 12-strong team working behind the scenes.  

"In the deal, we looked for a team that shares our passion, drives innovative thinking and brings its expertise in building an open platform for developers."

The two firms will share their expertise to increase the engagement in Viber Games and aid users to discover and learn new content on the platform.

As a provider of a cross platform social layer for mobile gaming companies and multiplayer feature developer, Nextpeer envisions to give an advance gaming experience to mobile players.

The co-founder and chief executive Shai Magzimof of Nextpeer says, "We are teaming up with Viber to help connect players on mobile and deliver a powerful social platform for developers. We are all very excited to join the Viber team."

Since both Viber and Nextpeer have similar motives, the partnering teams will surely offer exciting contentand services that mobile players should be excited about.
