iPad Mini Screen Size Comparison, Google Nexus 7 and Barnes & Noble Nook HD

Apple's iPad Mini screen size in comparison with its 7-inch rivals like the Google Nexus 7 and B&N Nook HD makes the iPad mini look better. But a recent Tech News Daily report shows that the iPad mini has fewer pixels than the Android devices.

Apple's Phil Schiller presented the new iPad with a 7.9-inch display, with a 1,024-by-768 resolution. That is the same number of pixels as on the iPad 2, but on a smaller screen area.

However, the Nexus 7 with a 7-inch screen has 1,280-by-800 resolution, offering more pixels on even less screen area.

The Nook HD has even higher resolution, with 1,440-by-900 pixels on a 7-inch screen.

Although the iPad mini offers a larger screen size than the Nexus 7 and Nook HD, the resolution is inferior. The price of the iPad mini is at least $100 more than the other devices. Nevertheless people will pick up the new Apple tablet because of its overall hardware, applications and user interface.
