Live Coverage of Hurricane Sandy: Video Streaming of Storm Watch [Video]

Live coverage of Hurricane Sandy, including video streaming of the storm watch coverage from Weather Channel below.

Sandy is now about a thousand miles in diameter, expected to hit strongest in the Northeast during the evening tonight. Many coastal areas have been evacuated due to possible storm surges up to 11 feet, including the Long Island Sound, Raritan Bay, and New York harbor.

Areas affected include all of Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, and Connecticut; most of Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts and Vermont, and northeastern Ohio, eastern Virginia, North Carolina, and western New Hampshire.

Warnings have already been issued and major power outages are expected. Last year, Hurricane Irene left 6 million homes without electricity. Sandy could cause more power outages than that.

The storm is expected to impact 50 to 60 million people in the Northeast.
