Chicken Can Boost Male Fertility!

Eating poultry meat can improve male fertility, according to research.

According to the study publish in the journal 'Fertility and Sterility' in early August, poultry consumption can "positively associated with fertilization."

The study was conducted at Massachusetts General Hospital. The data were gathered from 2007 to 2014 results. According to Farmer's Weekly, the study was to "assess the relationship between men's meat intake and clinical outcomes in couples undergoing infertility treatment."

The research was conducted in 141 men with their female partners who underwent to 246 IVF treatment. The subjects were asked to fill in the dietary questionnaires to estimate their total meat consumption and type of meat they eat.

Results showed that poultry meat can help in the improvement of fertilization rate, than to processed meat.

"Poultry intake was positively associated with fertilization rates, whereas processed meat intake was negatively associated with fertilization rates among couples undergoing conventional IVF," according to the published journal 'Fertility and Sterility.'

The study showed that men at the "highest quartile" of poultry consumption has 13% of the improvement in fertilization rate compared to the lowest quartile.

Researchers also found out that processed meat is relatively okay to couples who uses intracytoplasmic sperm injection, but for those who underwent IVF cycles, processed meat is not advisable, for it can badly affect the fertility rate.

However researchers also clear out that the latest discovery is not associated with "clinical pregnancy" or "live birth rates."

"This, however, did not translate into associations with clinical pregnancy or live-birth rates," the report reiterated.

Researchers also found out that during the research men consumed mostly poultry meat which takes a total of 31%, while processed meat at 22%.

Men who mostly eat processed meat gained 54% rate in fertilization, but those who eat the least of processed meat show 82% improvement in fertilization.f
