Sharp Unveils 'Robot Phone' In Japan [WATCH]

Japan has announced its latest Robot Phone named as RoBoHon. The small device is a combination of a Robot and a Smartphone which is also blends technology and innovation with its design.

RoBoHon is literally a smartphone structured in a robot's body. It is a robot-phone that has the ability to talk, walk, understand and remember. As a smartphone, it can also capture images and videos and project it into any wall or surface. It can dance, receive calls and display maps. The exterior design of the new device makes it more attractive to the customers.

According to Sharp, the Robot Phone is like a phone that has a human character.

It's "a phone in human shape, a phone that you feel like talking to, a phone that also wants to know you. To hear what you hear, to see what you see, to share the same dreams. That is little RoBoHon's big dream. Don't you want to take RoboHon with you everywhere?" stated by the manufacturer of the device.

In terms of specifications, RoboHon as a phone is not like the high end smartphones now available in the market. The device is powered by a distinct smartphone software made specifically for the Robot Phone. Aside from that, it has a conventional camera and a 4G LTE connectivity for internet surfing purposes.

The RoBoHon also contains a 2-inch screen display which is considered very tiny. It has a small touch screen display which is only capable of having a maximum of four icons on the home screen.

Sharp's representative pointed out the touchscreen is just considered a secondary interface because RoBoHon is primarily built for the purpose of talking to it. On the other hand, the unique design of the device is said to attract the elderly citizens of Japan.

RoBoHon will be officially released next year and Sharp has still no further announcement concerning the starting price of the device.
