Extreme Sports: German Daredevil Skates Using His Hands

A guy from Germany has invented a bizzare sport that not everyone can do. He actually skates using his hands! Mirko Hanßen claimed to have invented the sport of handskating and he is said to be the best hand skater in the world, probably the only hand skater in the world.

As reported in The Awesomer, the athlete decided to ignore the instructions on his inline skate box and wore them on his hands instead of his feet. Of course, Mirko's style generally requires greater balance and gymnastic skill compared to traditional rollerblading.

It was reported in Oddity Central that Mirko has always loved skating and handstands. Out of the blue, he decided to combine the two during dinner. Later that night, he attempted to do just that in his bedroom. Putting his hands in his roller blades, he attempted to a head stand. As expected, he was unable to prop himself up before he came crashing down on the floor.

However, Mirko is too stubborn to give up. With more practice, he was able to stand on his hands an even glide a little forward. When he was confident enough, he soon took his new found sport outdoors to the streets. He began practicing on bike lanes but was often distracted by motorists. He decided then to practice in a more obscure space, like back alleys, which also guarantee his security and that no one can copy his sport.

"I've always made sure that nobody is filming me with their smartphone," he said.

When he eventually mastered the sport of handskating, he began recording his attempts and posted them online. He's so good that he is now able to do backflips, skate on ramps and even skate using one hand.

As mentioned, handskating requires flawless physique and the kid admitted that he works out three to four hours a day to keep the shape. He is also constantly working on new tricks and techniques. Currently he is working on combining handskating with other sports like football and skydiving. As if handskating is not intriguing enough.

Mirko's videos are now gaining a lot of attention and he even appeared on local TV shows in Germany. Unfortunately, the 20 year old has decided to stop school and wants to embark on a career in bizarre sport. He said that he can go back to studying if that doesn't work.

So what do you think of Mirko's own sport handskating? Do you think that this will become a hit? Share us your thoughts by leaving your comments below.
