Rosario Dawson Is The New Batgirl

The name Rosario Dawson is such a familiar name in Hollywood after this actress has played in so many known films like Sin City and Clerks 3, which has a geek-friendly reputation. In a report done by The Inquisitr, Dawson recently booked the gig to play Batgirl for the Lego Batman movie.

It may not be the typical film of a Batman film that involves real people, but there is no question that it is still going to be a critically acclaimed project. Dawson will be lending her voice to the character named as Barbara Gordon, who happens to be a child of police officer named James Gordon. The Hollywood Reporter featured this story, as her character evolves to becoming Batgirl.

The Lego Batman is the spin-off movie of the Lego Movie released in 2014 by Warner Brothers. That movie has featured a lot of superheroes made famous by DC Comics like the Green Lantern, Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman just to name a few. There are other famous characters like Gandalf from Lord of the Rings and even Star Wars characters like Han Solo and C3PO.

The casting for Lego Batman is not yet finished, but Dawson is one of the confirmed actors who was chosen to be in this project. Among other actors who she will be working with are Michael Cera (Juno) who was confirmed to play Dick Grayson also Robin. Meanwhile, Zack Galifianakis is still being in the works to play The Joker.

The Batman Lego film director would be Chris McKay and he used to be the animation supervisor for the Lego Movie. McKay has some great projects included in his resume like Robot Chicken and even Moral Orel. A new Lego Movie installment is about to be released on 2018. As for the Batman Lego version, that one is yet to be disclosed.
