'Wonder Woman' Update: New Details About Film Including Plot And Villains! Will Gal Gadot's Diana Prince Go Up Against Eva Green?

Remember when it was previously reported that the upcoming 'Wonder Woman' movie will take place during World War I? It looks like Gal Gadot's Diana Prince may only be going back a few years from the present time.

JoBlo reports that the 'Wonder Woman' movie will serve as a prequel to the highly anticipated 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.' The film will take place only a few months before the Kryptonian brawls with the Caped Crusader, who is also set to make an appearance in the movie.

"After the film's finale, Batman will approach Wonder Woman in some regard to let her know he is aware of her, establishing a relationship that leads to her involvement in BVS," the site reported.

But what will happen in the 'Wonder Woman' film that will make Batman want to ask for Diana Prince's help?

According to JoBlo, Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) will be up against two classic DC villains.

"The very basics of the plot follow Diana/Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor in modern day trying to stop Circe, who is manipulating high-level government men into starting World War III with the help of Ares," the site wrote.

It has previously been reported that Sean Bean and Eva Green are being considered for the part of the baddies in the 'Wonder Woman' movie. It is possible that the former 'Game of Thrones' star has been offered the role of Ares while the 'Penny Dreadful' regular could portray the sorceress, who will reportedly take on a monster-like form in her big fight against the Amazon princess.

But who will be the bigger villain? It sounds like Ares will command an army of horned and winged beasts that will try to prevent Wonder Woman from stopping Circe. It sure sounds like the women will be getting top billing in the film.

'Wonder Woman' will also star Chris Pine as Steve Trevor and will be directed by Patty Jenkins. The movie is scheduled for release on June 23, 2017.
