27 Dead in Bucharest Club Fire

Friday, October 30th - It was a tragic night to remember for hundreds of young people. These teenagers were enjoying a free concert of Goodbye to Gravity, a metal band, at the Colectiv nightclub in Bucharest.

According to USA Today, a fire occurred at the basement of the club leaving 27 dead and 180 injured people. Next day, at least 146 people were still in the hospital mostly with severe injuries. With this situation, local authorities are worried that the number of fatalities might increase.

The lethal fire started when a spark on stage ignited flames on some polystyrene décor at the club which was formerly a factory. While on stage, the soloist of the band made a joke about the fire. The concert goers thought it was part of the band's act. Never would they know that it would be the cause of a horrendous night.
