Fallout's 'Nuka-Cola Quantum' Is Coming to a Target Near You

In just a few short days you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a small piece of the Fallout universe - minus the risk of any harmful radiation poisoning.

Game developer Bethesda Game Studios has just announced that they are bringing the franchise's iconic soda drink Nuka-Cola Quantum to life in time for the release of Fallout 4.

Thanks to a partnership with specialty soda maker Jones Soda Company, Fallout fans can head to any Target location in the US to get a taste of the fluorescent blue beverage.

'Raise your AP! Grab #Fallout4 AND @jonessodaco Nuka Cola Quantum - exclusively available from @Target on 11.10' reads the official announcement on the official Fallout twitter account.

In the game's lore, Nuka-Cola bottles are coveted for their caps; which act as the post-apocalyptic world's official currency. Nuka-Cola Quantum is a special version of the beverage. The official Fallout Wiki reads:

'To make it stand out more on the shelves and to give it an extra kick, Quantum included a mild radioactive strontium isotope (and an eighteenth fruit flavor - pomegranate). The effect was a drink that not only boosted your energy, but also glowed with a bright blue light.'

Drinking a bottle in previous Fallout games would increase the player's action points by 20 for a limited time.

The real life Quantum is considerably less exciting. It's simply a rebadged version of Jones Soda's existing Berry Lemonade flavor. Regardless, it's still a fun piece of memorabilia that will no doubt be adored by fans.

This marks the second beverage related Fallout tie-in to be announced. Last week, Carlsberg revealed that it would be releasing special, Fallout branded beer bottles to celebrate the game's impending launch. 12 bottle cases can already be preordered on Amazon UK.
