Why 'Full House' Actress Lori Loughlin Never Dated TV Husband John Stamos

Aunt Becky and Uncle Jesse were considered the perfect television couple, but what about their love lives off the screen? During an interview with Yahoo's Daily Shot, actress Lori Loughlin explained why she never dated her on screen husband, played by actor John Stamos.

Loughlin told host Ali Wentworth that despite the couple's undeniable chemistry on the set of "Full House," timing was the main reason why she and Stamos never dated.

"I was married at the time I was doing the show to my first husband," the 49-year-old actress said. "Literally when I was getting divorced, he met Rebecca [Romijn]."

Loughlin married her first husband, Michael Burns, in 1989, just two years after the premiere of "Full House," but the couple later divorced in 1996. She tied the knot with husband Mossimo Giannulli and the couple has been together for nearly 17 years and have two children.

Meanwhile, Stamos married model Rebecca Romijn in 1998, but the couple divorced seven years later in 2005, according to Us Weekly. During an interview with HuffPost Live last summer, Stamos revealed his side of the story, stating that Loughlin "could be the one that got away."

"That was very nice of him to say that," Loughlin gushed to Wentworth.

Loughlin added that she has a close relationship with Stamos, along with the rest of the cast. She still thinks that her onscreen lover is the "hottest" person in the "Full House" cast. Stamos recently talked about his current relationship with Loughlin.

"She's just the model of a perfect person, a beautiful person, and we're still great friends," he said. "We just don't have sex, but we're great friends."
