The popular coffee chain first opened in 1971 on Seattle's Pike Place Market, from which they got their name. It slowly grew in popularity each year. The coffee chain was able to sell $1.5 billion worth of food each year in the U.S. alone since 2012. A little known secret for the calorie counting customers is that their "petite vanilla bean scone" has the least calories as it only has 120 calories per serving. The menu that has the most calories however is their double-smoked bacon, cheddar, and egg sandwich which has a total of 540 calories.

Due to a widespread of customer demands for a more wholesome and delicious food options, Starbucks acquired La Boulange, which is a San Francisco based bakery back in 2012. The area with the highest concentration of Starbucks stores is located in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The whole area has a total of 56 stores in a 25 mile radius.

The website also revealed the most popular drinks across the country where in Pike Place roast is the most ordered in New York, Soy Latte in San Francisco, and Eggnog Latte in Portland.

The ever popular Frappucino was born back in 1995, where in the company was able to sell 200,000 servings in a week's span. By the end of the month, its popularity increased and the numbers increased to 800,000. By the year 2001, frappucino sales reached its $2 billion mark, which is 20 percent of the company's total coffee sales.

As of this year, the company is known as the largest coffee house in the world, Starbucks now has a stock market value of $51.6 billion as per The Richest.
