‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Trailer: Teaser Image Released! [PLOT, CAST & RELEASE DATE]

A teaser image of the "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer was recently released, by none other than Director Bryan Singer himself. Singer showed a teaser image of the film's trailer via Instagram this week.

It appears Director Bryan Singer is having some fun, and a bit of free time on his hands making the "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer. According to Comicbook.com, in his Instagram post, the "X-Men" director said he is "finishing up."

Singer seems to be watching a nearly finished "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer, as the photo shows a bald Professor X (James McAvoy) wearing the Cerebro helmet.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" tells the story of Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), the first ever mutant in Marvel's X-Men universe, and most powerful one at that. He was viewed and worshiped as a god. Having absorbed the power of other mutants, Apocalypse became immortal and invincible.

The "X-Men: Apocalypse" film finds the powerful mutant awakening from thousands of years of sleeping. Disappointed with the world that he finds, Apocalypse recruits several mutants, which includes Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to create a new, cleaner world that he will reign upon.

Stopping him is Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) and Professor X (James McAvoy), who would create a team of young X-Men to save mankind.

Other familiar faces in "X-Men: Apocalypse" include Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), Lucas Till (Havok). New "X-Men: Apocalypse" cast include Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Ben Hardy (Angel), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Olivia Munn (Psylocke) and Lana Condor (Jubilee).

The very first "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer, which Singer has been carefully working on, will be debuted along with the theater release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

According to Comingsoon.net, "X-Men: Apocalypse" is the conclusion of a trilogy that began with "X-Men: First Class" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

"X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated for release May 27, 2016.
