Will Arnett is officially calling it quits with his wife, Amy Poehler.

People reported that being separated for nearly two years, Arnett has filed for divorce. The 43-year-old "The Millers" actor filed the papers in Los Angeles Superior Court last week, citing irreconcilable differences as his reason for dissolving the marriage.

The couple has two sons together, Archibald William Emerson, 5, and Abel James, 3. They married in 2003, but have been separated for 18 months. Arnett has asked for joint legal and physical custody of their two sons.

The pair once said they bonded over their love of improvisation comedy

This was Poehler's first marriage and Arnett's second marriage. The former "Arrested Development" star was married to Penelope Ann Miller, but the couple divorced after one year of marriage in 1995.

The 42-year-old "Parks and Recreation" star is now dating fellow comedian Nick Kroll, 35. in August 2013, Arnett was rumored to be dating Katie Lee, Billy Joel's former wife.

"All people have been doing since the dawn of time is trying to figure out how to live this life and be happy," Arnett said of their divorce. "I'm no different. I'm 43, and I've found my happiness--which is my kids."

The former couple have had success working side by side. After their marriage, Poehler starred on a few episodes of Fox's sitcom "Arrested Development" as the wife of Arnett's character, Gob Bluth. Arnett has also been a guest star on "Parks and Recreation." The pair also appeared alongside each other in "Blades of Glory," "Horton Hears a Who!," "Spring Breakdown" and "Monsters vs. Aliens."
