Jim Bob Duggar Offers Advice to Fathers: Remove 'Sensual Content' From The Home

Jim Bob Duggar gives advice to fathers about being the "spiritual leader" of their homes, in an open letter published on the Duggar family's website.

Jim wrote about his wife, Michelle, who initially only wanted to have one or two children when they wanted to start their own family, but a disastrous miscarriage while Michelle was on the birth control pill caused them to change their plans.

"We had been rejecting His gifts," he said. "We prayed and asked God to forgive us and we gave Him this area of our lives. We said, 'Lord, help us to love children the way that you love children,' and Lord, we want to receive each one as a gift from you.'"

In a postscript to the letter, Duggar gives direct advice to his fellow fathers, starting with asking for forgiveness "for the things you have done wrong."

Jim believes that being a good and spirirtual leader at home comes with a realization that first, one has to ask Jesus' forgiveness for the things one has done wrong. Asking one's spouse and children for forgiveness should follow.

Jim also suggested to start protecting one's family by removing books, magazines, television, or internet that have sensual contents and to replace them instead with good things like healthful music, biographies of great Christians, good old-fashioned traditional family fun and games.

In August, Josh was reportedly sent to a Christian rehab center for a long-term treatment for his rumored sex addiction, after he admitted to using the infidelity website Ashley Madison to cheat on Anna. He also admitted to an addiction to pornography.

The mom of four has kept silent on her intentions for her marriage and whether or not she'll consider a divorce, but a lot of people believe and that includes Jim Bob and Michelle as well as her parents, the Kellers, that divorce is not an option.

Josh's admission to an addiction to pornography came just months after his earlier admission which made headlines, that he had molested five girls back in 2008, when he was just 14. Sadly, two of the girls were his sisters, Jessa and Jill.
