Kevin Bacon Is Coming Back As Valentine McKee In Upcoming 'Tremors' TV Series

In line with all of the films and TV shows getting a reboot, the sci-fi franchise 'Tremors' will be getting its own TV series ... starring none other than the original movie's star Kevin Bacon!

According to EW, Blumhouse Productions is collaborating with Universal Cable productions on a new show which takes a bite out of the infamous 90s film featuring huge killer worms that live underground. Adam Miller, who wrote 'The Secret Circle,' has been called on to work on the script for the TV series, which could also be taking some cues from the short-lived 'Tremors' TV show back in 2003.

But the most exciting part of the announcement is the involvement of Kevin Bacon, who portrayed Valentine McKee in the original 1990 film (and the only 'Tremors' movie that got a theatrical release, since the sequel were made direct-to-video). The return of the character also means that the TV series will be set in his fictional home town: Perfection, Nevada.

Kevin Bacon has just finished working on the Fox TV show 'The Following,' and has previously confirmed that he would love to return to the 'Tremors' franchise.

"I'd love to do something else with 'Tremors' and revisit the character 25 years later," Bacon told the British newspaper Metro, adding that the film would work great if it was made in the present day because of the new technology.

"Part of what's great about that movie is there are next to no digital effects. The monsters are done with puppetry, and it's still off, funny and scary - it's a cool accomplishment," he said.

In addition to starring in the series, Kevin Bacon will also serve as executive producer.

'Tremors' follows the residents of Perfection, Nevada as they try to fight against giant sightless man-eating worms that have begun hunting them. The film also starred Fred Ward, Finn Carter, Michael Gross and Reba McEntire.
