'Aquaman' Movie Rumors: Find Out Who Will Be The Villain, Plus Plans For New DCEU Movies [SPOILERS]

It might still be a long way before the DC 'Aquaman' movie begins shooting, but there are already several rumors surrounding the Jason Momoa film!

JoBlo has just reported that the 'Aquaman' movie will feature his arch-nemesis, and it isn't Black Manta!

"I'm told that OCEAN MASTER aka Orm Marius/Curry aka Aquaman's half-brother is the villain that's currently being developed to square off with the King of Atlantis in his first solo outing, which is said to be reminiscent of the comic struggles of the duo in a brother-vs-brother fight for the throne of Atlantis," the site wrote, adding that the film is still in its early stages since director James Wan is still working on 'The Conjuring 2.'

JoBlo also mentions the role and appearance of Mera, Aquaman's wife, who is currently being cast. It also sounds like the character will be a tough female lead and not just a love interest.

"Mera, much like her comic book persona, will not be a Queen walking around in gowns and waiting on her man. Mera will be a force to be reckoned with and will share the screen with AQUAMAN in very much the same way that Max and Furiosa did in MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, making her every bit a hero of the film (and the DCEU) as the titular character," the site wrote.

But don't expect the "Khaleesi of the Sea" to look anything like her red-haired comic book counterpart. According to JoBlo, the studio is actually auditioning for "non-white" actresses for the part.

In addition to making Mera a possible brunette, Warner Bros. could also be planning to add more diversity into their future DCEU movies. There are rumors of a 'Birds of Prey' film featuring Batgirl/The Oracle and Black Canary, as well as a 'Teen Titans' movie with Cyborg. Hal Jordan and John Stewart are also expected to team up 'Lethal Weapon'-style in 'Green Lantern Corps.'

'Aquaman' is scheduled for release on July 27, 2018.
