Patrons of this restaurant do have some strange palate. Most restaurants have certain theme when it comes to food. When you want to eat Chinese food, you go to a Chinese restaurant. If you want a burger, you can go to McDonalds or Wendy's.

Molecular Gastronomy

But what if you like the molecular gastronomy experience? If you are in Chicago, you could visit the Moto Restaurant. Molecular gastronomy, according to Wikipedia, uses scientific techniques in order to enhance the flavor of each ingredient used in the preparation of a meal.

Moto are one of those restaurants that offer such food preparation concept. The restaurant has its own indoor garden to make sure that the patrons get the best quality vegetables served in their plate.

Moto's Restaurant prepares its food through the use laboratory equipments including centrifuges. The prepared meals are certainly unique and may take the patrons a few moments to realize that it is actually food.

Moto's Chef, Richie Farina said in a Yahoo Travel post, "creating things that might not even look like food."

Fallen Log

The same post also describes one of Chef Farina's creations - basically a dish that resembles a fallen log. The dirt-like substance that surrounds the fallen log is actually mushrooms. The food is actually composed of vegetables and mushroom piled on top the "fallen log". Finally leak ash and garnish of flowers were added to enhance the food's flavor.

Moto's Cigar Dish

Moto tends to change the menu now and to keep patrons from being bored with the same food.
The most interesting food they have created to date is a cigar shaped pork sandwich which even includes an ashtray.
