Despite the pushing back of his album Royalty's launch date, Chris Brown released a mixtape called Before the Party as a surprise for the fans. He announced in his instagram account that the mixtape is ready for download and listen via the link he provided. Chris Brown's Before the Party includes 34 fresh tracks and some star-studded collaborations including one with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, who had always been open to their circle of friends that she had always wanted to get some music made with Brown even before everything.

In a track called "The Break Up", he sings about how he wishes he were the one who "couldn't sleep" and "couldn't live without the other one". He basically explains that he is the one who should be broken from the said break up. In the song, he reveals that his mile long list of mistakes and wrongs including going out and acting wild are just a few of the factors why his previous relationship ended. It's all about a "love-gone wrong" with actress and model Karrueche Tran. The second verse of this track is the most controversial one - where he mentions that he was forced to choose between her and Royalty which made him sick in the process. The last verse talks about Brown missing Tran, but just couldn't meet her halfway by giving up his daughter. 

Brown and Tran split up after he admitted to be a father to a baby girl named, where he referenced his new album - Royalty. It turned out that Brown cheated on Tran with Nia Guzman, who, after a lot of encounters with Brown, agreed to a joint custody allowing Royalty to have his father's last name.Chris Brown is an American actor, dancer and recording artist that keeps his art form alive despite all that had had been through these past few years including his bipolar disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PSTD) diagnosis.
