Oppo R7S: First Rose Gold Android in The Market

Behold, the first rose gold Android has entered the market. Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has announced it will release rose gold Android smartphones in U.S. and Europe in late December.

The Chinese smartphone maker claims that its new smartphone R7S is the first ever rose gold android in the market as reported by Mashable. Given the media attention that followed after Apple launched its iPhone 6S and 6S Plus in rose gold, more android manufacturers are sure to follow.

Meanwhile, Samsung may have actually gotten ahead of Oppo with the release of its Galaxy Note 3 sporting the merest bronze-pink that Samsung claims as rose gold. Taken together, it was more like a black and white leather encased phone with a pink trimming.

However, the new Oppo R7S has a full rose gold gear like that of the iPhone 6S. The gold rose shade is much prized in China Mashable further reports. According to Apple CEO Tim Cook, the gold rose shade iPhones were specifically designed for the Chinese market. More so, Apple's products in gold hue were also targeted to them as well as they observed a fondness for the elegant shade.

Alongside with an iPhone, the Oppo R7S appeared much pinker and less gold-looking. It remains to be seen if Oppo R7S will also draw many male users as found when iPhone was released on the same shade.

However, it seems that colour isn't the only thing that Oppo has followed. Oppo's version of Android Lollipop, ColorOS 2.1, has followed the OS interface showing all the apps on the home screen while Android has a separate page for all the apps.

The process of deleting and re-arranging the icons is just like using an Apple device as well. When you press on an app, all the apps on the page will wiggle and you will also see a little cross. Using the camera is much like using an Apple device as well. In selfies mode, there's a front-facing flash just like the latest feature in iPhone 6S.

The Oppo R7S will be sold for $425. Though it is priced mid-range, it's equipped with hardware features typically found in high-end devices. The 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display is assembled behind a Gorilla Glass 4 and its unibody metal finishing feels solid and first-class. Most notable perhaps is the fast charging technology that guarantees your phone back to a 75 percent charge in 30 minutes.

The Oppo R7S in gold version will be released first in late December. It will be available in countries like Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. The U.S. and European versions will follow suit.
