Eating healthy is a choice that most of us are doing these days. With the kind of stressful lifestyle that most of us live, keeping our body healthy should be the number one priority.

An article in India Times has listed some food that studies have proven to be good for our brain. Whether you're interested in them to boost your memory or simply want to stay healthy, make sure that you incorporate these in your diet.

Let's start with Oily Fish. Many experts say that oily fishes like salmon, mackerel or sardines are all packed with omega-3 fatty acids that have proven to be good for the brain health. In order to reduce the risk of brain problems, it is recommended to include oily fish in your regular diet at least twice a week. This diet is also said to prevent memory loss as well.

Next, we have the all-time healthy leafy vegetables. Dark green and leafy vegetables are not only good for the overall health but very important for the brain health as well. Munching on generous portions of greens like broccoli or spinach which contains folate, beta-carotene and vitamin C can do the trick. All these things are important to keep the brain healthy and improve memory as well.

Moving on to the ultimate breakfast of champions, we have eggs. The egg yolk has vitamins and minerals that are known to have a good effect on our health.

It is rich in iron that creates red blood cells which helps carry oxygen to the brain. Eggs are known to keep a person focused and alert at all times. They contain vitamin b12 and iodine which is known to help with memory.

Then we have green tea. The brain is made up of 70% water, which is why we have to keep it hydrated all the time so that it functions well. Sipping on green tea increases mental alertness and the antioxidant present also lowers the risk of dementia.

Lastly, there is dark chocolate. This food contains flavonoids known to improve cognitive skills. They help create new neurons in the brain that improve the ability to make new memories.

Ensuring that we munch on these foods on a regular basis will help our health and improve our brain function as well.
