Coldplay, Maroon 5 and Adele Will Headline Super Bowl 50 Halftime?

On Thursday, the professional American football league consisting of 32 teams - National Football League (NFL), will unveil the first act to perform at Super Bowl 50's halftime show, and some of the world's biggest artists are being linked to the February slot.

The Sun (a British news outlet) reports that the British rock band formed by lead vocalist Chris Martin - Coldplay,  is the most likely name to be announced by the NFL this week. That goes against early claims that the National Football League would bring back the American singer, songwriter and record producer with hit songs like The Lazy Song and When I Was Your Man - Bruno Mars, who delivered a memorable performance in the National Football League halftime show two years ago.

Chris Martin's Coldplay has a new album, which is slated to be out this Friday, so the timing of Coldplay's performance at the Super Bowl 50's halftime show makes a lot of sense.

An insider stated that, "The offer of a Super Bowl performance is a no-brainer for the band. It's the biggest show in the world and they reckon it's finally their time to step up and do it. Granted that, artists don't get paid a lot to do it, but the exposure they get in return is huge. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet but artists are definitely in the running."

However, the other big name rumored for Super Bowl 50, is the American pop rock band - Maroon 5. Adam Levine's Maroon 5 band has been linked to the NFL halftime show for a month or so, but it has yet to confirm reports.

In addition, the final two rumored artists are the biggest. Some have attached the English singer and songwriter who recently unleashed her new album, 25 - Adele to the Super Bowl, which seems more like wishful thinking.

And the other artist is the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker - Taylor Swift. However, the American singer-songwriter and actress has suggested that she'll take a break in 2016, as individuals may be getting sick of her.
