Introducing Canada's Very Own Trudeau Burger with a Side of Weed...s

Canada's prime minister Justin Trudeau quickly came to global popularity for a few things. There is the fact that he is the second youngest politician to hold the position. Of course, there is also the fact that he has some good looks to go with his political pedigree. And, most importantly to some, he is known for his approval of recreational weed use in the country.

These facts are not lost to some enterprising and patriotic businesses. The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro has come up with the Trudeau burger. It is considered a novelty “joke burger” but it can actually be ordered in The Works restaurants, Huffington Post Canada reported.

Bruce Miller, head of marketing and development at The Works, said that the burger is inspired by “what's popular in popular culture.” He elaborated further and said, “We've got a new burger, a new prime minister, it's topped with red peppers because he's a Liberal, with poutine because of his great French Quebecois heritage, and a side of weed...s because weeds is what our salad offering is called and in this case, it absolutely comes with a side of weeds.”

The Trudeau burger is included in all menus of the The Works outlets except in its Ottawa restaurants. Apparently, a different joke burger is already on the menus. “Historically, we had a very favourite joke burger for our guests in Ottawa, and they like to make fun of Don Cherry,” Miller quipped. “As Sens fans, they feel that Don Cherry is a little biased toward other Canadian NHL teams.”

Ottawa menus state that the Don Cherry burgers are made with “sour grapes, moldy cheese & a stale bun.” The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro is also known for other extraordinary creations like the Reese's Burger which comes complete with a Reese's cups-stuffed patty.
