McDonald’s Loaded Fries Have Cheese And Bacon Or Guacamole And Salsa – But Only Australian Franchise Sells Them

In a new edition of "awesome menu items not available in America," the Australian franchise for the Golden Arches chain has recently introduced the McDonald's Loaded Fries, a new concept that sees the company's traditional French fries "loaded" with two different possibilities and some delicious results - but, unfortunately, so far they're only available in Australia.

Time and again, Australia has proven to be one of McDonald's test markets par excellence, as through them they've introduced ideas like the McCafe and the more recent Create Your Taste range, so there's hope that the McDonald's Loaded Fries could reach the U.S. and Canada soon!

According to Mashable, the chain has just released the McDonald's Loaded Fries in the southern country, and there are two possible choices for the new menu item: either Bacon and Cheese or Guacamole and Salsa, with a share pack going up to Australian $6.95 (U.S. $5.1), while the standard size goes up to Australian $4.10 (U.S. $3), and they can also be added to meals.

"By adding guac and salsa, as well as bacon and cheese sauce to our fries, we're following a trend our customers started. While our fries are delicious by themselves, for a long time now Aussies have been experimenting with them, dunking and dipping them in everything from ketchup to our Soft Serve," said Mark Lollback, the CMO of the Australian franchise, to The Huffington Post.

Business Insider reports that the McDonald's Loaded Fries rolled into the country last Friday, two decades after Australian pubs began a similar practice by putting chips with sour cream and sweet chili sauce, as the chain's popularity in the country's bound to increase.

The new McDonald's Loaded Fries come only a few days after the company announced the all-day breakfast recently launched in the U.S. would make it nationwide in Australia as well, after the country was one of the test markets for this move, as last July (during the country's winter) the company rolled out this strategy in the Gold Coast, South and Western Australia and Wolllongong.

Hopefully, we'll be getting those delicious-looking McDonald's Loaded Fries sometime soon!
