Johnny Depp Won’t Work For Less Than $20 Million

Johnny Depp, America's favorite pirate, has amassed quite a treasure chest of his own and acquired a bit of a sweet tooth while at it.

Apparently, Johnny Depp does not work for less than 20 million dollars. The actor turned down an offer by Black Mass' movie management to star in their latest flick for ten million dollars. Initially, they had signed Depp for $20 million but after multiple financial woes, the movie makers were left pulling all loose strings on an already tight budget. The movie makers, who had a budget of $60 million dollars (Depp's pay was a third of their budget!), approached Johnny Depp to agree to slash his salary by half to ten million. He turned them down.

The A-list celebrity who is featured in the cast of the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 5, demands an arm and a leg for a movie appearance, and rightfully so. How then would he maintain his $350 million dollar fortune and $100 million a year salary?

According to Celebrity Net worth, Depp is worth a whooping $350 million, that's almost seven movies away from half a billion, going by his current rates. And he might just make the half a billion mark. You see, with his films grossing $3.1 billion in America alone and $7.6 billion in worldwide sales, you get why the actor has such a huge appearance fee. An eye for an eye...

Depp's role in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise netted him quite a fortune. It is estimated that the star earned $300 million from the first four movies, the first being in 2003.

With future pirate scenes at the end of the telescope, Depp may find himself with multiple treasure chests to hide. And that wouldn't be a problem since the actor owns his own island in the Bahamas, Little Halls Ponds Cay.

Apparently, the star was so struck by the plight of the people living on the island during the shooting of the Pirates franchise that he decided to purchase it for $3.6 million. Savvy?
