Johnny Depp’s Wife Amber Heard Appearing In Australia Court Over Dogs Case – Will Jack Sparrow Make Appearance?

Over the past spring (though it was fall in Australia), the world watched in shock how Johnny Depp, one of the most beloved actors in Hollywood, and his new wife Amber Heard were accused by the government of smuggling their dogs into the country, and Johnny Depp's wife is now facing charges over this.

In the past few weeks, Johnny Depp's wife has missed two court dates in Australia, and the situation between the Hollywood pair and the country's government has been tense for a while, with Heard saying she won't be returning to the country - but now, it appears like she's officially set to come back for the trial.

According to The Guardian, Johnny Depp's wife has confirmed she's "looking forward" to appear in Australian courts to defend herself in the case against her dogs, which almost caused the couple's two Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo, to be euthanized, after the country's agriculture minister Barnaby Joyce gave them an ultimatum.

"Whilst I am unable to comment on the specific matters before the Court I would like to say that I respect the importance of Australia's laws," said Johnny Depp's wife in a recent statement on the subject, via NBC News. "My decision to defend these charges, as will become apparent in the appropriate forum of the Court, is not intended in any way to diminish the importance of Australia's laws."

9news.com.au reports that Johnny Depp's wife is facing two charges in the Australian legal system, namely illegally importing animals and producing a false document; the offenses could mean up to 10 years in jail and fines for thousands of Australian dollars.

Heard also revealed that Depp might appear in court as a witness in the controversial case, though it's still unclear as his presence could become "disruptive" due to his very high profile.

Johnny Depp's wife requested a trial date before March, as the actress will have trouble appearing in court before that time, though it seems that might not be possible.
