'Grimm Season 5' Spoilers After Mid-Season Finale Shock, Is This the End for Nick and Adalind?

Grimm Season 5's mid-season finale left fans reeling from the shock of seeing Juliette Silverton return from the supposed fatal shots of Trubel's arrows - as Hadrian's Wall's brainwashed Eve. For all intents and purposes she seems to be Nick's fiancee of the past five-point-something seasons, but actress Bitsie Tulloch clarifies: "Juliette's flesh and blood, her DNA, is still alive. But this is not Juliette."

Not everyone is happy about this return despite co-creator David Greenwalt's promise: "... to keep my word, [Juliette] is dead. She's coming back, but it's not really Juliette anymore. It's this new character, Eve, who has not been brainwashed exactly, but she's been through some incredibly tough training where they broke her down to nothing. She's basically a super Hexenbiest weapon for Hadrian's Wall to fight Black Claw."

Fashion & Style perfectly captures why a lot of fans may, in fact, be very upset about this new development: Not everyone is convinced that Eve will stay conveniently emotionless, or that Nick won't attempt to help her become Juliette again. More importantly, a large number of viewers have actually been liking the fact that Nick and Adalind are switching from bitter enmity to something promisingly cozy.

While most followers assumed that Tulloch stuck around the Grimm set after Juliette's death merely as a matter of staying close to real-life boyfriend David Giuntoli. Tulloch, however, reveals otherwise: "I started training really hard five or six days a week. I was eating a ton of protein, just getting myself really in fighting shape."

Tulloch further teases imaginations that are by now already on overdrive: "As you can imagine, the Scoobies are likely to have huge issues with seeing someone who looks exactly like their dead friend running around town. There is a pretty pivotal scene with Nick at some point after the new year, where they sit down and try to discuss what the hell is going on, because he's obviously confused."

The second half will obviously reveal more of if the Nick-Adalind spin will see the light of day, more of Eve's connection with the Wesen war.  Grimm Season 5's return episode, 'Eve of Destruction', will be aired on January 29, 2016.
