In the last few years, America witnessed a 70 percent increase in the number of youngsters who have become vegetarian. Vegetarian Time study shows that there are nearly seven million vegetarians in America.

The vegan way of living that became popular a few years back continues to grab the attention of the youth. While veganism is also considered a style statement or a trend for many youngsters; it has also proved to make a significant difference in the health and the diet of Americans.

Though veganism was closely related to animal-rights, many Americans have adopted the vegan way of life in the pursuit of health and fitness. Many American families have appreciated their children's decision to go vegan since it has impacted the entire family's diet habits.

One important factor that caused veganism is the counter cultural food moment that occurred in America during the 1960s. The counter culture was a result of concerns raised on diet, health and environmental causes. Veganism became popular after 2010, and it was reflected in the number of internet searches that went on veganism and vegetarian food.

In the food industry, over the past years, all vegetarian products are high in demand. Recipes to information on veganism continue to be googled and they are catching much attention. Many books regarding veganism and associated health control resources have also been published and become popular in the recent times. The youngsters of America have become quite aware of the disturbing health conditions and environmental issues, that they are willing to make personal choices to make a difference.
