Andrew Flinders Taylor: The Man Who Eats Only Potatoes

Andrew Flinders Taylor tried the "Spud fit experiment" for a year to work against his food addiction. Like other addictions, it is not a realistic possibility to stop eating food if you are an addict. Hence, Taylor resorted to eating only one kind of food the whole year - potatoes.

Eating potatoes for one whole year might be quite hazardous since the body is not receiving any nutrients, vitamins and other requirements that are not found in potatoes. However, for Taylor, it proved to help him lose weight.

His goal is to make food quite an uninteresting thing and thus get out of his addiction. According to him, Spud Fit is just a project.

Food is a necessity to the human body. However, when it takes control of our lives it can be quite dangerous. Taylor felt that he has to take control of his situation and hence announced his project on January 4th this year.

Joseph Proetto, a professor of medicine, said that the project is extremely unhealthy. According to him, the human body requires a certain amount of healthy elements. Eating potatoes alone will not suffice.

His update on the project is being constantly updated on Facebook and Youtube. The plan is meant to run throughout the year of 2016. As of now, he has already lost nearly 22 pounds and has proved that his project is becoming successful. He is experimenting different types of potatoes and recipes so that he can sustain himself through the year.

While many people across the globe are fighting their obesity problems by undergoing many diet plans, Taylor took this radical step to make things happen. Choosing to stick to just one food will help him take control of his weaknesses, deal with his hunger and keep him alive.
