Fast Food Giant McDonald's Menu Update: Chobani Greek Yogurt and Two New Breakfast Bowls!

Burger and fast food giant McDonald's will be releasing new menu items soon, that is geared to meet the demands of a more healthy-conscious public. They will be serving Chobani Non-Fat Greek Yogurt and their new Breakfast Bowls, in Turkey Sausage and Chorizo Breakfast. The new items will be made available in 800 restaurants in South California, specifically in Los Angeles and San Diego.

In a statement, Clay Paschen III, McDonald's owner/operator and president of the McDonald's Operators' Association of Southern California, said: "Today consumers are looking for choices and food customized to their taste," and "McDonald's wants to be able to provide our guest with those options. McDonald's breakfast bowls and Chobani Greek yogurt offerings will stretch the range of fast food options, inviting customers to eat more foods when pressed for time."

The Chobani Non-Fat Greek yogurt will replace the low-fat yogurt currently used for their yogurt-based dishes. Specifically, Chobani Non-Fat Greek Yogurt will be used for their McCafé Smoothies and Fruit 'N Yogurt Parfaits, which will be on their new Simple Delights menu.

A serving of Chobani Non-Fat Greek Yogurt parfait will get you 110 calories, as opposed to 150 calories for its low-fat predecessor. The McCafé smoothies will come in flavors of strawberry banana and mango pineapple.

The Breakfast Bowls will be priced at $4.39, and will be available in the standard breakfast hours. The Turkey Sausage Bowl will have breakfast turkey sausage, sautéed spinach and kale, egg whites, a freshly made bruschetta, and will come with a thin topping of shaved Parmesan cheese. This meal will have 250 calories and 27 grams of protein.

Chorizo is a Spanish spicy pork sausage, and it will be served with fluffy scrambled eggs, hash browns, shredded cheddar and Jack cheese, spicy roasted salsa Roja and will come with a topping of fresh pico de gallo. The Scrambled Egg and Chorizo Bowl will have 460 calories and 26 grams of protein.
