Knott’s Annual Fest: Berry Farm To Debut Boysenberry Cheesecake for Annual Festival

The annual Knott's Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival is almost ready to be started, and that means that there will be dozens of sweet and berry - flavored dishes for everyone to enjoy.

Incidentally, Oregon is known for marionberry, Massachusetts for cranberry, but Orange County is known for boysenberry, which will be the key ingredient of this festival.

According to NBC Los Angeles, about 70 edible dishes will be featured for this year's festival. Some of the most common dishes will include ribs slathered in a tart - berry esque sauce, various breads, fried cheese curd, boysenberry Belgium Beer,  and boysenberry wine to name a few.

Additionally, a new item for 2016 will be introduced named "The Fun Stick", and can be described as "culinary masterpiece that perfectly combines a creamy boysenberry cheesecake, funnel cake, and boysenberry cream," according to The Daily Meal.

However, according to the FoodBeast, "The Fun Stick" is a cheesecake, which is dipped in funnel cake batter and then deep fried.

The Cheesecake thus made is topped with boysenberry cream and dusted with powdered sugar. Due to deep-frying of the dish, the graham cracker crust of the cheesecake falls apart providing the final product with an "empanada - like appearance."

Notably, to honor its boysenhistory, and to look to its boysenfuture, Knott's Berry Farm pauses each spring to host its annual Boysenberry Festival.

The Boysenberry Festival is scheduled to begin on March 19 and will be ending on April 3. Adding to the food, the 16 - day festival will also offer its eaters with a bevy of live shows

So, it is yet to be seen if the Grand Berry Festival will be a success this year, but one thing for sure, people will be flocking to the Ghost Town Grub to get a healthy bite of the sweet, sticky and delicious Fun Stick among other sweet dishes!
