Watermelon is one of the best fruits that keep you hydrated during the summer season. It is not just sweet and refreshing but also loaded with health benefits.

Additionally, there are more things that you should know about what you get in eating watermelon every day. Here are some of them:

1. It Will Keep You Hydrated

Watermelon is around 90 to 95 percent water. This just simply means that this will keep you hydrated during the summer season. It is not a surprise anymore why watermelon is one of the 23-Rich Hydrating Food. Always keep hydrated to avoid health problems. 

2. It Lowers Your Blood Pressure

According to the Mayo Clinic, watermelon has essential electrolyte and mineral that is very helpful id reducing blood pressure and is also very important for the proper function of the nervous system. Another study also from Florida State University found out that watermelon could reduce blood pressure both at rest and while people were under stress.

3. It Will Keep You Healthy

Since watermelon is 90 to 95 percent water, it will help you go to the bathroom regularly. However, be reminded that watermelon is not really a good source of dietary fiber and you have to check also the best fruits and vegetables to ease stomachache. 

4. It May Cause Diarrhea

Despite the health benefits you get from eating watermelon every day, there are also some cons that you will find. Watermelon has a high fructose content that can cause gas ad diarrhea. Also, be careful if you have bowel sensitivity. 

5. It Reduces Consumption of Added Sugar

However, there are instances also where consuming watermelon should be controlled. Most especially those who are suffering from chronic diseases like kidney failure. 

People who have kidney disease or those who are undergoing dialysis should control their watermelon consumption. The more they eat watermelon, the bigger is the chance that the water adds up to their weight. 

People who have diseases like this are always reminded to control the water intake and since watermelon is around 90 to 95 percent water, it could somehow be harmful to them. 

Aside from its water content, watermelon has high potassium content which means that it could cause a heart attack if not monitored and controlled.
