Get ready for the most intense season yet of Food Network's Supermarket Stakeout, where the only thing hotter than the grills is the competition! Hosted by the ever-amazing "ICAG" Alex Guarnaschelli, the new season will premiere on Wednesday, May 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with a special all-star judges' tournament debuting on May 29. Shot outside a real supermarket, these chefs will have nothing but a tricked-out parking lot kitchen and their negotiating skills to survive.

What Is Supermarket Stakeout?

If you're not familiar with Supermarket Stakeout, each episode features four chefs battling it out in a unique three-round cook-off. To score ingredients, contestants need to be both strategic and charming. Armed with just $500, they have to convince shoppers exiting the market to part with their groceries. Each week, a brand-new panel of judges decides who created the most impressive dishes. The champion walks away with enough dinero for a year of groceries!

This Season Gets Spicier With An All-New Judge's Tournament

While I'm into the regular premise of the show, it's the judges' tournament that's lighting my culinary fire. This season, you can look forward to seeing Antonia Lofaso, Aarti Sequeira, Eric "Greenie" Greenspan, Joe Sasto, Damaris Phillips, Karen Akunowicz and others go head-to-head in a four-episode tournament in the Supermarket Stakeout kitchen, competing for bragging rights (of course), a cool $25,000 cash AND a $25,000 donation to No Kid Hungry.

Set your DVRs now - this is one culinary competition you won't want to miss!
