Lynda Bellingham Dies Peacefully in Husband's Arms

Popular actress Lynda Bellingham passed away peacefully in her husband's arms after a long and valiant battle with cancer. The beautiful actress and presenter will be remembered for the humor and personlaity she brought to the homes of millions of Americans.

The actress was diagnosed with colon cancer in July 2013. Immediately, the 66 year old acteress was put under strict medication that included chemotherapy sessions.  The actress put on a brave fight against the cancer before finally making a tough decision. Bellinghamm decided to be put off chemotherapy in November so she could spend one last christmas with her family before her intended death in January. The actress decided to end her chemotherapy so as to limit the amount of pain her family was feeling, something she said she could not deal with. "I just sat down when I was in pain - there's no getting away from it with chemo - the ulcers in your throat, the thrush, plus the fact I'd had major, life-saving surgery for a perforated colon.

"When you're in terrible pain, you make decisions," Lynda said in an interview.

Bellingham made numerous TV appearance s in an acting career that spanned 5 decades. Bellingham's career highlights include TV series All Creatures Great and Small, competing in Strictly Come Dancing, sitcom Faith, judge at Loose Women and more notably in her role as mother in the OXO ads.

She is survived by her two sons and husband.

Her husband revealed that the words on her tombstone will be "The curtain went up on May 31 1948, and the final curtain went down on October 19 2014."

Bellingham's heart broken husband also revealed that the star only wanted to be remembered as an avtress, not a celebrity. He said that Bellingham always saw herself as an actress, never a celebrity.
