Chelsea Handler leaving E! For Netflix

Chelsea Handler leaving E! After seven years as the only late night female host in a male dominated environment.  Handler, host of the late night show Chelsea Lately will be joining Netflix for a new show that is set to air in 2016.

Chelsea Handler's fans will be disappointed after the star's scheduled exit from E! Takes effect. The late night host will be leaving the Chelsea Lately show, which she has been at the helm of for seven years. Handler has hosted guests on the show every day since July 2007.

Chelsea's final episode of Chelsea Lately was scheduled for August 26. From then, the host will join Netflix.

Netflix execs announced a complex multiyear deal with the comic host that will center on a new show the comic will be hosting. Netflix, which is a subscription streaming video service only posts original series. To add a show with Chelsea Handler will be including a day by day series, something totally new for the network. The show, which is yet to be named, will not exactly be a late night show although it can be compared to one, as per the Netflix execs.

Starting October, Chelsea Handler will be making feature appearances on Netflix, beginning with a stand up special based on her new book "Uganda Be Kidding Me." This will laterbe followed in 2015 by four different documentary style comic specials with Mrs. Handler at the helm.

The exit of Mrs. Handler from E! Follows several other huge exits from live television by other late night TV hosts. The Tonight Show Host Jay Leno retired from the late night industry and was replaced by Jimmy Falon. Jimmy Falon departed from 12:35 PM to replace Leno. Frallon was in turn replaced by Seth Meyers on 12:35 PM. Meyers left Saturday Night Live to host the 12:35 PM show.
