“Into The Woods” Movie Trailer: A Disney Christmas Treat

"Into The Woods" movie trailer promises to be a great Disney film delight this coming Christmas season.

The movie is an adaptation of an original fairy tale-themed Broadway musical "Into The Woods" by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine.

It is a modern day take in several of the beloved fairy tales, tying up together the plots of popular fairy tales as the story explores the outcomes of each character's wishes. "Into The Woods" combines the much-loved characters of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Rapunzel (Mackenzie Mauzy), Jack (Daniel Huttlestone) from Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford).

"Into The Woods" also touches on the story of the Baker's Wife played by Emily Blunt who desperately wanted a child but have been cursed by a witch to be childless. The vain and charismatic witch magnificently played by actress Meryl Streep gives the Baker (James Corden) and his wife a chance to reverse the curse. The couple will then set on a quest involving the other characters of the fairy tales to break the unfortunate spell.

Moviegoers will expect stunning visual effects, theatrical musical score and a star-studded cast. Johnny Depp joins the cast as the Big Bad Wolf from the story of Little Red Riding Hood.

Two princes also appears in the movie, Cinderalla and Rapunzel's prince, played by Chris Pine and Billy Magnussen. Rapunzel's prince was supposedly played by Jake Gyllenhaal but he had to bow out of the project because of the filming conflicts with the actor's indie film "Nightcrawler".

"Into The Woods" is directed by Rob Marshall, best known for directing "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" (2011) and "Chicago" (2002). The film is produced by Marc Platt, the Tony Award winning producer of the musical "Wicked". The movie will hit US cinemas on Christmas Day.
