It's not every day that people around the world get to know the details about how celebrities spend their holidays, but this year it's clear that Gwyneth Paltrow's and Meryl Streep's were fairly interesting ... as friendly neighbors!
It seems that Gwyneth Paltrow and Meryl Streep are not only friends, but also neighbors in New York City, living in the same exclusive apartment building. And, while many say that it's tough to even meet your neighbors in Manhattan, these two ladies have enough camaraderie going on that they can even let each other enter their apartments for some good Samaritan deeds!
According to The Daily Mail, the three-time Oscar-winning actress was in a recent interview on "Live With Kelly & Michael" explaining how had her Thanksgiving come along, and she said that it would have been a total disaster if it hadn't been for a friendly neighbor. In other words, for Gwyneth Paltrow is Meryl Streep's big turkey savior!
In the interview, Streep told the story of how her oven refused to work properly on Thanksgiving and she was having a lot of trouble cooking the turkey. As dinnertime approached, she was still going through a rough patch ... but, thankfully, Gwyneth Paltrow is Meryl Streep's neighbor and obviously she has a great and highly functional oven.
According to Vanity Fair, Meryl Streep's Gwyneth Paltrow interaction happened at this point, when she thought all was lost in her home's holiday celebration. She sent Paltrow an e-mail detailing her situation, and the home and cooking guru gave "The Iron Lady" her blessing to go to her apartment and cook a proper meal for Thanksgiving.
Even though Paltrow was not at her New York apartment at the moment, she didn't mind lending Streep her oven (which, according to the actress who played Julia Child, is the best she's ever seen) for her to find peace in her Thanksgiving, reports The New York Daily News.
This year, we certainly know what Meryl Streep was thankful for: her friendly and kitchen-savvy neighbor Gwyneth Paltrow!
