Beanie Sigel, American rapper and former member of Dame Dash Music group was shot outside his home at 800 block of Spruce Avenue in Pleasantville, New Jersey, Friday morning. Beanie Sigel, who sustained a serious injury during the incident, was conscious when the Pleasantville PD police arrived.

The rapper, 40, was shot in the abdomen that passed through his back. He was rushed to Atlanti Care Regional Medical Center immediately for operation. Officials of the hospital informed the authorities that Beanie Sigel was already conscious after the surgery.

Apparently, the shooting incident happened around 9:30 a.m. and based on the initial investigations, Beanie was not the target in the shooting, which happened after an alleged fight.

Sigel was found wounded together with Umar Salahuddin, 22, who sustained injuries but was not shot. Chief Jose Ruiz of Pleasantville police said that Salahuddin was uncooperative during the investigation. Salahuddin's family owns the house where the shooting incident happened.

Fortunato Perri Jr., lawyer of Beanie Sigel told the police officials that the rapper just brought his kids to the school before the incident happen. Initial report also indicates that some sort of dispute led to the alleged fight and shooting incident.

Pleasantville PD police has arrested a driver of a gray car with bullet holes found two blocks from where Beanie Sigel had been shot.  The driver of the car was held for questioning. A Honda minivan connected with the shooting at Pleasantville was also found empty at Washington and Hampton avenues, Friday night.

It was not the first time that Beanie Sigel had been shot. Earlier in 2006, the rapper was also hit by a bullet in Philadelphia during a robbery.

Beanie Sigel served a two-year term in the jail over a $728,000 tax evasion case filed against him. He was just recently released from prison in August.  Federal Bureau of Prisons stated that the rapper had ended his probationary period on Saturday.
