In the latest bit of terrible split news, it seems like the Chris Rock divorce to wife Malaak Compton-Rock will be quite messy, as the comedian's divorce filings come to light in the public eye and show that Malaak kept their daughters from seeing their dad.
Only announced a few weeks back, Chris Rock's divorce came as a shock to the world, as he'd been married to wife Malaak for nearly 20 years, apparently with a happy marriage - but now, it's becoming apparent that there was far more than meets the eye in this seemingly healthy relationship.
According to The Star, the outlet obtained Chris Rock divorce filing on the Superior Court of New Jersey over the past week. In it, it is stated that, among the reasons for the separation there's the fact that the actor and comedian has been kept away from the couple's two daughters, 12 year-old Lola and 10 year-old Zahra, as his estranged wife has done everything in her power to keep them from him.
According to E! Online, the Chris Rock divorce documents state that even though the fact they are separated, the comedian definitely has the right to see his children regularly, which is something Malaak has refused, not allowing "normal and usual" access to their children.
For now, Compton-Rock hasn't responded to the Chris Rock divorce filings, but the entrepreneur did release a statement through her representatives to People Magazine.
"Malaak is saddened and disappointed that Chris has accused her of keeping their children from him, which he knows is untrue and can be so easily disproved," attorney David Aronson said in a statement, as he represented client Malaak. "We all know Chris leads a very busy public life while Malaak and their children definitely do not. She hopes the privacy of their children is still as important to Chris as it is to her and that it will be respected. They will always be the main focus of her life."
