Spider-Man Disney: Sony Pictures Agrees To Deal, Peter Parker Joins Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe!

After years of negotiations between Disney (the owner of Marvel Studios) and Sony Pictures regarding the addition of Spider-Man to the "Avengers," now both companies have officially reached a deal, so Spider-Man's Disney premiere will be in one of the upcoming "Avengers" movies - perhaps the best news that geek culture has received in a long time!

In the original comics, the character Spider-Man (real name Peter Parker) has been a part of the Avengers for a very long time, however, due to legal issues (particularly the fact that in times of trouble, Marvel sold the movie rights of the character to Sony Pictures), it had been impossible to add him to the string of films including "Iron Man" and "Captain America" - but now, audiences will get Spider-Man in Disney!

According to The Guardian, the inclusion of Spider-Man to Disney comes with several terms in the deal made by Sony. The agreement includes Sony releasing a new Spidey movie on July 28, 2017, co-produced by the Marvel Cinematic Universe experts team (led by Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios) along with Amy Pascal, who was Sony Pictures' CEO until recently, after she was surrounded by scandal following an e-mail leak created by North Korea officials before the release of the Seth Rogen and James Franco film "The Interview."

The deal includes that Sony Pictures will continue to "finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man" films, as mentioned in a statement released by Marvel Studios, first published as a tweet that has gotten more than 16,000 retweets barely nine hours after being published - Spider-Man's Disney addition is huge news for comic book fans.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Spider-Man Disney deal also includes the character getting introduced in an upcoming Marvel film, as fans debate it would be "Captain America: Civil War," which is supposed to be an adaptation of a comic book arch in which Steve Rogers and Iron Man create a war among superheroes, with Spider-Man playing a big part as he joins Tony Stark's team.

The new Spider-Man Disney franchise would be yet another reboot of the story about Peter Parker, starring another actor other than British-American Andrew Garfield.
