Charlie Sheen On Brian Williams: ‘Two And A Half Men’ Star Calls Brian Williams ‘Hero’

For the past week, NBC anchorman Brian Williams has been under the scope of many news outlets after confessing to having embellished his reports during the Iraq War; now, Charlie Sheen's Brian Williams comments have made the former "Two and a Half Men" star shine a rare light in the defense of the iconic journalist.

Younger generations might know Williams for being the real-life father of Allison Williams, one of the stars in the Lena Dunham HBO comedy "Girls," but he's been working as a journalist for many years, building a reputation that now seems strongly tainted after his recent confession - but Charlie Sheen's Brian Williams comments have the "NBC Nightly News" anchor covered.

According to The New York Daily News, Charlie Sheen's Brian Williams comments came in the form of an open letter, as the controversial actor (who was fired from show "Two and a Half Men" after publicly slandering its creator, Chuck Lorre) stepped up to speak in favor of Williams.

Variety reports that Charlie Sheen's Brian Williams letter, after thanking him for his years of service in journalism, states that the famous anchorman has been a "victim of a transparent and vile witch hunt," as he called his NBC employers "cowards" for suspending the anchor indefinitely, speaking about the decision the network announced last February 10 after days of receiving flack on the subject.

The Wall Street Journal calls Charlie Sheen's letter to Brian Williams a "bizarre rant," as, first, the whole thing was actually tweeted; obviously for the length of the original "document," the actor ended up using Twitlonger, a tool to expand posts on the famous social network, which only legally allows 140 characters per tweet.

In an even stranger event, the actor, famous for his joking personality that often borders on the extremely egocentric, signed the letter as "the MaSheen."

In any case, Charlie Sheen's Brian Williams' rant is barely the latest from the oddball actor and comedian.
