Although Julia Roberts' family hasn't made any official public statements on the matter, the first reports say that the Oscar-winning actress has just suffered a great loss, after her mother Betty Lou Motes lost a long-running battle against lung cancer at 80 years old.
It's now a hard time for Julia Roberts' family, as the actress has been reportedly seen visiting her mother's home in full mourning, as well as being comforted by the people closest to her after her mother passed away in the early hours of the past Thursday, as she was being treated for lung cancer at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California.
According to Hello! Magazine, Julia Roberts' family is now in the midst of fixing things after the death of Betty Lou. Although the family has kept private about the matter, previous reports say that she was diagnosed with cancer two years ago and later went through surgery to remove part of her longs, as well as radiation treatments in her fight against the disease.
In the meantime, The Daily Mail reports that they've uncovered recent pictures of Julia Roberts' family and the actress herself visiting her mother's home in West Los Angeles, as the actress strived to set things in order after her mother's passing, before the expected waking.
In the pictures published in the British outlet, the actress can be seen going into the house in all black, before being greeted by a friend who gave her a long and supportive hug, then helping out Julia Roberts' family in however way she could.
USA Today tried to contact Roberts' publicist, who refused to make any comments on the matter, as the actress is famously private about her personal life.
This wouldn't be the first tough time for Julia Roberts' family in recent times, as her half-sister Nancy Motes died from an overdose last year in Los Angeles.
