Carlsberg Biodegradable Bottles Soon To Hit The Shelves!

Carlsberg Biodegradable Bottles- Here's good news for environmentalist's drinkers! Carlsberg, one of the oldest brewing companies founded in Denmark is conceptualizing the first ever biodegradable bottle made from sustainable wood fibers so that it can be responsibly degraded.

Carlsberg announced their first "Green Fiber Bottle" the first biodegradable bottle of its kind.  All the parts of the bottle including the cap will decompose naturally and can be recycled.

Carlsberg biodegradable bottles are being created with the expertise of ecoXpac and the Technical University of Denmark according to Branding Magazine.

"It will be a new look and feel. It will be non-transparent, non-breakable and with a visible fiber structure," Senior Packaging Innovation Manager of Carlsberg, Håkon Langen told Quartz.

Carlsberg biodegradable bottles will be made of paper pulp, which are used in making egg cartons and protective packaging for electronics.  The biodegradable bottles are expected to be lighter than glass bottles with its material.

Fans don't have to worry about difference in taste with the new Carlsberg biodegradable bottles. Langen assured that they wouldn't compromise it and further added that the beer chilled longer than the average aluminum can. The bottles wouldn't be clear and would be soft to touch, Fox News reports.

Carlsberg biodegradable bottles plan was a three-year planning of design and development. It was announced during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2015 in Davos, Switzerland.

Jim Daniell, International Media Relations Director at Carlsberg stated that the shape of the Carlsberg biodegradable bottles is still yet to be determined.  He further explained that the use of the wood fiber will provide a key benefit for the beer. It has UV protection due to the opaque material.

The Carlsberg biodegradable bottles are the first of its kind and for sure, if the idea works, many companies will soon follow the new packaging. This is just one step, but working to the common goal like this, is one of the best ideas that could save our planet earth.

The Carlsberg biodegradable bottles are expected to be seen on shelves within the next three months.
