Monica Bellucci ‘Spectre’ Role Turns 50 Year-Old Italian Beauty Into Bond Woman, Not Bond Girl

The Italian bombshell made history last year after Monica Bellucci's "Spectre" role was first announced, as she was set to become the oldest Bond girl ever - but she has now spoken out about what's to happen in the upcoming film about the famous MI6 agent 007, and she's stated that she's actually more of a Bond "woman."

Of course, there's little shock there: while Monica Bellucci's "Spectre" cast is just the most recent film in her history, the beautiful Umbria native has been leaving the world speechless with her amazing curves for quite a while now, first gaining international notoriety in the 2000 Giuseppe Tornatore coming of age film "Malena," where she played the title role and the object of the teenage desire of the main character.

Now, the Monica Bellucci "Spectre" role will cement the "Matrix: Reloaded" star further into the conscience of sexiness, as she's been often called a beacon in womanhood over the years.

According to The Daily Mail, the fact that Monica Bellucci in "Spectre" will be the oldest Bond girl to date isn't the only record she'll be breaking: she's also four years older than Daniel Craig, her co-star in the film, which would make it the third time in the history of the franchise that one of the female co-stars is older than James Bond himself.

Before Bellucci, the only two times this had happened were Honor Blackman in "GoldenEye" co-starring Sean Connery and Diana Rigg (who today stars in "Game of Thrones") in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," co-starring Australian actor George Lazenby.

In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, the actress revealed that she was shocked when the first Monica Bellucci "Spectre" called happened, as she pointed out to director Sam Mendes that she was too old to play a Bond girl, asking him what she'd do with him at fifty years old - in fact, she thought she'd be replacing Judi Dench as M!

According to The Huffington Post, Mendes' reply left the curvy star cold: he said that, for the first time in history, Bond would be involved with a mature woman, and they wanted her to play the lead.

Now, it's become clear that Monica Bellucci's "Spectre" role will have the beautiful Italian star playing just her age, with 29 year-old French actress Léa Seydoux (from "Midnight in Paris" and "Blue is the Warmest Color") getting the role of the actual Bond "girl."
