Macchiato is an Italian word which literally means “stained”. This term is used in reference to beverages like coffee where milk is used as the “staining” agent. Caramel macchiato contains the additional ingredient, caramel.
To make caramel macchiato at your home, you will need: espresso, milk, vanilla syrup, and caramel topping.
Caramel Macchiato
Ingredients
1/2 cup fresh espresso
8 ounces milk, steamed
3 tbsp caramel syrup
1 tbsp vanilla syrup
Whipped cream
Directions
1. Add vanilla syrup and steamed milk in a coffee mug.
2. Top with steamed milk with foam and 1/2 cup of freshly brewed espresso.
3. Top with whipped cream and drizzle with caramel.
