Scott Eastwood Cowboy: Clint Eastwood’s Son Joins Family Business, Stars In Western ‘The Longest Ride’ – PETA Boycotts

Clint Eastwood is, along John Wayne, one of the most iconic actors of the western genre of all time, having most notably starred in the Spaghetti Western "Dollar Trilogy" in the 60s, becoming an icon for all time to come; now, his son, who looks just like him when he was younger, takes on the family business, as Scott Eastwood's cowboy abilities reach the silver screen.

Though these days Clint mostly works behind the camera (having directed, most recently, the box office smash "American Sniper," starring Bradley Cooper in a role that saw him get his third Oscar nod in a row), Scott Eastwood's cowboy work can easily step into his father's spiky shoes.

Though there's a definite iconic thing going on at the perspective of Scott Eastwood as cowboy, things haven't been easy for the actor as he promotes his new film, "The Longest Ride" - according to Entertainment Tonight Online, they're currently going through some heavy issues with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals organization, best known as PETA.

Fashion N Style reports that Scott Eastwood's cowboy movie was recently the subject of protest: PETA showed up at the film's Hollywood premiere last Monday, picketing the theater's entrance due to the fact that the film features a heavy rodeo theme, an activity deemed cruel to animals.

Los Angeles Times reports that the producers of the Scott Eastwood cowboy movie didn't exactly make things smooth during the premiere, as they took on a very peculiar way of promoting the movie: they hosted a bull-riding competition on the red carpet, as 20th Century Fox teamed up with Professional Bull Riders.

The film is an adaptation of a novel by Nicholas Sparks, the writer behind hit films like "The Notebook" and "The Last Song."

"Nicholas Sparks should stick to long-lost lovers kissing in the rain, because there's nothing romantic about violence to animals," said PETA in a statement. "The rodeo is a disgusting show in which pathetic people bully terrified animals who are simply trying to escape their abusers."

The new Scott Eastwood cowboy film, co-starring "Under the Dome" actress Britt Robertson, will hit theaters later this week - watch the trailer below!
